Hug Japan charity pins for relief efforts

03/23/11

Hi guys…we here at CRB Productions have been profoundly impacted by the recent events in Japan.

We like to believe that we think globally and act locally, giving where we can and working in fields where we believe we can be of use. But in this case, we wanted to create something that could offer some small token of our humanity and love to those that have been affected by the heart wrenching happenings in the east.

With this in mind, I teamed up with Noah of Zenster Designs to  give you the CRB Hug Japan relief effort pin.

The red circle represents the emblematic dot of color in the Japanese flag…we’re only making 100 for now and all proceeds after recouping costs will go to aid relief efforts in Japan. If there is a certain organization you’d like your donation to go to, please let me know. I was thinking of splitting it between Doctors Without Borders, the Red Cross and Global Giving.
Pins are going to production now: I am asking $15 per pin and $5 for shipping. If you get more than one pin, you only pay the $5 shipping once.

Just so you know, there is no white border around the character hugging the red dot. Just the little fella and the flag logo. :)

Order below.

So what else has been happening? Since Tubamaphone with the No BS Brass Band, I painted to Future Rock and Mindelixir at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia on 03/11/11…

and to DJ Rahbee and others at the Sun in Floyd, Virginia for a blissful night in Shangri-La. Shangri-La will be exhibited next week at the PhilaMOCA in an exhibit called Sonic Textures: The Art of Rock and Roll Music. Print and fine artists AJ Masthay, Nate Duval, David Welker, Ian Millard, Bruce Horan and myself will be exhibiting 26 individual works. I will also be creating a live work for the evening.

Shangri La: Painted live for Shangri La with DJ Rahbee, Jennie, The Dr. Noe Duo, Swiss Miss and The Exit at The Sun in Floyd, Virginia on 03/19/11.

This painting occurred on the night of the supermoon as well as the equinox. I revisited the elephant theme on this evening to tie in with the program for the show and also as a wink to almost a year ago when I rocked the black and white elephant to the Heavy Pets.

Speaking of the Heavy Pets…I was invited down to the Jewish Mother by friends Galaxy Dynamite last night. We got to Norfolk and got it all set up and had a great evening meeting some new folks. Thanks to everyone at the Jewish Mother and to all the fans new and old. We had a great time. Big thanks to Jeff from the Heavy Pets for the cds! We love you guys and would go on HP tour. Frealz.

This work is the Swami King. I think Mike M. of Galaxy Dynamite said it best last night when he said, “His penetrating stare tells you his undisputed influence is absolutely unstoppable.”

He wears a shaman’s turban and can see into the future and past. He swims with the whales and the walrus. He is.
