Summer Heat, Redemption and everything in between

06/29/10

I’ve been experiencing technical difficulties with the site recently, so if you go to the product page and it “isn’t there,” please contact me directly at crazyredbeard@crazyredbeard.com with questions. We’re working around the clock to get this thing straightened out. Well…really, we’re working on it when time permits. Okay fine. We’ve hired magic elves.

It’s been over two months since I’ve posted and a lot has happened between now and then. I think when we left off, I was getting ready to paint for Conspirator and the Former Champions in Richmond. We ended up having a really great time in the RVA and had a huge positive reception from a lot of you guys there.

Conspiring Minds: Painted live to Conspirator on 04/16/10 at the Canal Club in Richmond, Virginia; 24 x 36: $800

Following that, I ran up the east coast to New Brunswick, New Jersey for the gran re-opening of my friend Barry’s smokeshop. That Sunday found us at the Old Bay Restaurant on Church Street, painting to a number of musicians including Turtle Soup, Karmic Juggernaut, Melvin Mcknight Blaqmel, Dave Tucker and Mike Montrey.

The painting created that night was nabbed before I could finish it.

After that, Phan Fare was next up after a few weeks of personal development and a 10 day meditation retreat. The Phanfest corporation continues to put on great festivals, whether larger or small. Phan Fare was my first outdoor venture for the season and it was a great one, despite me forgetting to bring the EZ-Up top and walls. Chris Paul of Chris Paul Photography hooked it up and we were ready to put up the art tent in no time.

The Center Of It All: Painted live at Phan Fare on 05/14/10 at Snipes Farm in Morrisville, Pennsylvania; 24 x 36: $700

Fare Is Wheel: Painted live for Phan Fare on 05/15/10 at Snipes Farm in Morrisville, Pennsylvania; 30 x 40: $4000

Demon Defeated: Painted live for Phan Fare on 05/15/10 at Snipes Farm in Morrisville, Pennsylvania; 24 x 36: $800
After that came Rooster Walk 2 in Martinsville, Virginia. Headlined by The Kings of Belmont on the first night and William Walter/Gunchux and Company on the second, this festival has touted local, great talent since it kicked off last year. A charitable event. this has quickly become one of my yearly favorites and we hope to continue a great relationship with the folks in Martinsville. We held a kids’ painting workshop and also donated a few things to the charity raffles.
I’ll post those paintings in a few. After that I had a small art opening in Eastchester, New York at Claude Gallery. The work is still there, actually. So by this point, I had no merchandise to take to our next stop, STONEHENGE. With our favorites U-Melt, Juggling Suns and Turtle Soup, we always have a great time at the Henge. Jordan Simms hooked up some excellence this year as well. Those pics coming soon, too.
We ran off to the circus for a bit as well, seeing Phish at Hershey Park, Portsmouth, VA, Saratoga Springs, Camden and Merriweather Post Pavilion. And now here we are. My car broke down on the way to Camden and it’s going to be an expensive repair. But I can’t help thinking that my NYC art showing called HEAT at Artifactory that looms right now outweighs this minor snag. Or maybe my being a live painter in the VIP/Artist Lounge at Camp Bisco 9 has a little something to do with my ability to be grateful rather than bitter. Or maybe it’s because Jammin’ With the Animals is coming up….or that I’m designing a special commemorative poster for Camp Barefoot this year…not sure.
Toon in very soon, though. I’ll be posting the RW and Stonehenge paintings in the next few days, as well as a few photos from the exhibit I participated in at 42 Degrees which was a Phanart event.
Until then, peace and love!
